Poor machine, will not last long
Do not buy. Machine only lasted about 1.5 years. The unit just stopped working. No lights, then eventually no power. Sent for warranty, $70 out of pocket, the replacement only lasted 1 year. My last espresso machine lasted over 12 years. Of course now I'm completely out of warranty.

Very good espresso machine
I have had this machine for about 4 years now and it still works beautifully. It’s very straightforward and incredibly easy to use. I come from using a much more expensive machine that was heavier and more complicated. The steaming on some more expensive machines has a longer delay or a way to start it but this machine just starts the steaming after switching to that setting. This machine also isn’t terribly loud but it does make noise as do most machines.
It’s very easy to refill with water and it’s very easy to clean anywhere on the machine. I love this espresso machine so much, it’s so easy to use and it’s lasted me a long time!

Easy to use and easy directions to follow
Love that it provides an even temperature distribution I can choose that my drink is the temperature I want it. Love the steam wand, easy to clean. Little bit of a learning curve as was my first espresso machine it easy to follow instructions with dial to choose drink selection. Not as overwhelming as other espresso makers, would be better for beginner but still high quality drinks. Fits well/blends with other appliances on my countertop. Would recommend

4 years old and AMAZING
So, four years ago, my Breville died one month after it's warranty expired. And, I always struggled with it to pull decent shots. So, I gambled for the Temp IQ because of price and decent reviews. This machine, for FOUR years, has consistently pulled GREAT shots and I love the steam wand. Amazing machine. Well done, Calphalon. Additionally, it has a beautiful, sleek design and good capacity water tank. And, it even allows you to adjust temperature and timing of your shots.
For many who have given poor reviews, consider that they probably haven't taken care of it. Four critical components for great espresso: good water, quality beans, proper grind, and descaling on schedule.

It's been a workhorse. Love it.
I've had my Temp iQ machine since August of 2021.
That would mean I've had it for 4 years and 2+ months, or, ~1520 days.
I'd like to say I've used it daily since the day it arrived - but there have been a handful of days a year where I'm not at home in the morning.
With that said, I've pulled at least 2-3 double-shots per morning with it for the days I am home. I guess usually more like 4-5 doubles, evenings included, for 1-2 people.
That puts me at around ~3600 shots of espresso... And it's still going strong.
I've noticed one thing, though, is that if I don't let it warm up fully, my shots aren't quite as hot as they should be. That's pretty straight-forward. The light goes solid, which tells me I can then start the brewing/pressing. But I think I need to be more patient. You know how mornings go, though.
Overall, I've been super-duper happy with it, and I would recommend it to basically anyone who wants a super solid machine that's really easy to maintain and use.

I’ve had this machine for almost 4 years. And it makes terrific espressos and cappuccinos. Straightforward, easy to take care of, and excellent results. Particularly for the money.

Good for Beginners.
My family has had this espresso machine for years, and it works as well as ever. None of us are barista level coffee makers so it is perfect. Great for beginners.

In it for the long haul
I’ve owned my machine since 2018, it was a gift and I absolutely love my machine! It’s been in three military moves with me and still holding up! Way back in the day I used to be a barista and I wanted something compact that could do the job. This machine is perfect! Makes great espresso and froths just in case I get fancy and want to do lattes. I need to order another double shot insert though cause mine went missing and I’ve been doing single shots twice .

Been using mine for several years now and been VERY happy. Upgraded from a very basic machine. Appreciate the Calphalon's auto shutoff and ability to adjust the default of how much water is disbursed for single and double espresso (separately). Would definitely buy again

Perfect for anyone who wants café-style drinks at home.

Extremely easy to operate.
The first thing you notice is how solid the design is. It is quiet when frothing the milk and the outcome was perfect steamed milk. For someone that is fairly new to espresso machines, this one is very easy to operate. The temperature control is a big plus providing you with a consistent espresso coffee
Would recommend to anyone, especially if this machine is your first one, super easy to operate.

Functional and affordability
The Calphalon Temp iQ Espresso Machine with Steam Wand (Stainless) has been a delightful addition to my kitchen. Its sleek design and compact size fit perfectly on my counter, and the machine is user-friendly, making it easy to brew espresso at home. The steam wand creates creamy froth, ideal for lattes and cappuccinos. While some users have noted that the espresso shots may lack the depth found in café-quality brews, many appreciate its performance and value for home use

Careful what you wish for!
Christmas present 2022, recently the coffee baskets plugged up and I blew the main gasket in the head. Ordered a new gasket, installed it, but still no coffee. Tried to order new baskets but there is none that fit and Calphalon does not offer replacement parts. My advice, buy a quality espresso machine from a reputable dealer and skip the junk!!

Bought three as gifts, but one only lasted a year
Great product but… I bought three of these. One for my older daughter and my eldest son as gifts. When my older daughter moves out, I replaced it with another machine exactly the same for my younger daughter. It’s only been about a year since that occurred and now it makes terrible sounds and doesn’t get “ready”. Not sure what’s going on. We’ve loved this machine but it’s a bummer when it only lasts a year. Thought we’d get more than that out of it. Would love for some troubleshooting advice.

4 years and going strong
Purchased this machine in the early days of COVID when I started working from home and my old espresso machine just wasn't cutting it anymore. I have used a couple kinds of Breville and DeLonghi machines...and this Calphalon is my favorite.
I have upgraded to a non-pressurized portafilter, use a distributor instead of a tamper, and use a screen on top of the grounds; and would say the espressos and cappucino's I'm producing is often better than what I buy at most cafes. I roast my own coffee so the beans are always fresh and use a Baratza Encore grinder, which is slow to produce espresso grounds, but I'm patient.
The steam wand is impressively powerful. Be ready with your milk as soon as you turn it onto steam, but if the steam gets cranking, just quickly turn the steam off and on to submerge the wand....Don't submerge the steam wand when it's blasting....you'll make a mess.
It's easy to make Americanos with the hot water feature. Cleaning this machine is easy...which is one of my complaints with the Brevilles. Love this espresso machine and highly recommend.

Reliable and makes great espresso and cappuccino
We've had this machine for 2.5 years. Simple and straightforward to use, reliable, and a nice compact size. I had a Bréville previously that died before a year was up. Only complaint I have is it takes a little time for steam pressure to build but once it's set foaming is no-nonsense.

Looks great but just doesn’t last
This is a rebranded sunbeam product that has mostly cheap plastic components on the inside. It’s made to look like other brands but the materials are not the same. There are known issues with leaking, group head failures, and poor extraction temperature and pressure. The machine did work well for about 7 months but then the “wear and tear” of one-time daily use began to show. The machine started to be unable to extract a full shot, the noises became louder and eventually slow leaks began to appear. Despite attempting to contact customer service multiple time I have had no luck in getting any sort of meaningful response. (Another known issue) it’s unfortunate because it worked great but just doesn’t hold up. I learned the hard way that an espresso machine is really a machine and the parts that it is made with does matter so I’m just going to opt to buy a better known brand that has more than one product offering and has quality parts.

Calaphon Temp iQ review do not buy!
Intro:
After reading all the marketing department hype about this Temp iQ Espresso, including all the hyped up features, evaluating the price vs a few higher priced competitors machines, decided to try and find a new model at the lowest price possible.
Item arrived looking good. Do a test run with just water and it leaks. Brand new machine leaks!
Ok, so why?
1. Arrives broken
Pump valve is cracked,
2. Hose leaks
and the hose from pump to broiler also leaks, mostly because the retention design of the hose is poor engineering, however if you add an extra washer (if you have one!) you may stop the leak.
Cannot replace valve with OEM part, but can use another type to make it work, also hoses are interchangeable for the most part. so...get machine to stop leaking.
3. Steam wand
There is no adjusting the steam wand. Your steamed milk will basically be scattered everywhere by the high pressure because you will not be able to adjust the pressure, and thus you will not be able to make a thick foam.
4. Low temperature
The temperature of the water immediately out of the machine is at approximately 130F. Very low. Makes for a bitter coffee. Should be closer to stated temp of 198For perhaps temps of 170F to 200f
5. Calaphon does not respond to email
Calaphon allows you to register any Calaphon product. However they want to know where you purchased it. If you purchased on Amazon they may listen to you, but if you purchaed on Ebay they likely will ignore you.
I'm sure they will post a response to this review, they may even use the above analysis to improve their product, basically free advice, and at the end of the day I will be tossing this plastic machine in the trash because no one listened to me or offered any equity in due diligence of avoiding negative feedback, lost customer base, product liability, or any plain and old fashioned customer service over a very detailed explanation of grievances.
